Summary: BIM Designs, Inc is seeking a Systems Administrator to manage and support the day to day operations of the company which requires a background in IT as well as AutoCAD and Revit support.

General Responsibilities as Systems Administrator:

  • Maintain our software and hardware environment, consisting of custom “gaming-rig” PC’s and laptops, Windows 10, Autodesk Product Suite, Bluebeam, Dropbox, Office 365 as well as several collaboration applications.
  • Set up user accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
  • Provide recovery of services to operations, based on service level; utilize troubleshooting skills and available procedures in restoration of services in event of a system failure.
  • Provide smooth operation of multi-user computer systems for our Detailing Department.
  • Work to coordinate with detailers to update software versions; document processes, installations, and hardware changes; coordinate with detailers, designers, and test teams to maintain and support their systems; and complete technical investigations.
  • Manage AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam licenses and provide end-user support.
  • Manage Autodesk Fabrication databases.
  • Write and maintain LISP routines and other scripts to bring efficiencies to the operations team

What we're looking for in you, with appropriate oversight:

  • Ability to train and mentor team members 
  • Coordinate installation and provide backup recovery.
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation, related to the use of computing resources.
  • Diagnose hardware problems and replace defective components.
  • Maintain and administer computing environments.
  • Monitor and manage system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
  • Monitor performance of computing environments.
  • Monitor systems to ensure availability to all users and perform necessary maintenance to support availability.
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Perform Job Start routines on individual Detailer computers, ensuring AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam are properly configured and setup for new jobs
  • Perform routine startup and shutdown procedures.
  • Perform systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate's degree in computer science, information systems, or closely related field is required.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
  • Experience in the installation and maintenance of various Microsoft Windows and MAC Operating systems, and mobile device platforms.
  • Knowledge of basic scripting and coding capabilities is desired.
  • Proficient understanding of AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam is desired.
  • Proficient understanding of Windows 10, Microsoft Office.
  • Proven organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Five (5) years related experience is preferred.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before guests and associates of the organization.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Physical Demands:

  • May be required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to sit for extended periods also stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Required to frequently reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job to include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
