The South Maui Community Park Recreation Center began to take shape as masons from Ono Construction, LLC worked on the walls of the long-awaited gymnasium. General Contractor and Project Manager Kelly Keating of Blazy Construction, Inc. reported that the 34,000-square-foot facility is the Alaska-based company’s first job on Maui. “We have a really good subcontractor group. It’ll come up quick," Keating said.

As of December 9, 2019, the Recreation Center is open to the public. The recreation center contains two basketball/volleyball courts end-to-end, with seating for 700 in the primary court and 320 in the secondary court.

During the grand opening, Mayor Michael Victorino said of the Recreation Center, “I’m very excited to see this... finally open." He added, "I have no doubt that our families and keiki will enjoy countless hours of friendly competition on these gym floors. I can foresee this gym becoming a focal point of the South Maui community.”

Our client is the largest mechanical contractor in the State of Hawaii. Their website describes them as a "full service mechanical contractor encompassing the entire spectrum of new construction for residential homes, condominiums, resorts, light commercial projects, high-rise complexes, schools, and hospitals across the Hawaiian Islands."
