Salary: $28.00 - $64.00 per hour

Summary: BIM Designs, Inc is seeking a Mechanical Detailer to lead BIM design and efforts with respect to various projects.

The purpose of your role as a Mechanical Detailer:
As a Mechanical Detailer, you will produce detailed, constructible shop drawings; and project deliverables, such as spool maps and spools, based on contract documents, design criteria, and/or instructions. Shop drawings are to reflect the use of sensible and strategic practices to maximize productivity throughout all phases of the construction process. The process is typically executed in the following phases: Setup and Background, Initial Detailing, System Modeling, Coordination, and Final Detailing/Deliverable Creation. May provide/ receive work direction from Journeyman CAD/VDC detailers.

What we're looking for in you:

• Ability to train and mentor team members
• Drafting/design in Piping/Plumbing industry experience
• Knowledge of building codes for plumbing and piping industries is preferred
• Proven math, accuracy, and detail-orientation skills
• Proven verbal and written communication skills
• Proven organizational skills and problem-solving skills
• Proficient understanding of Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication, and/or Navisworks is preferred
• Working knowledge of construction practices with an emphasis on Mechanical (Piping/Plumbing) systems

Education and/or Experience:

• All experience levels are welcome to apply
• 3+ years of Mechanical Detailing experience preferred

Language Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to speak effectively before guests and associates of the organization
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Physical Demands:

• May be required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
• Occasionally required to sit for extended periods also stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Required to reach with hands and arms frequently
• Regularly required to talk or hear
